I could go on and on about all my experience and knowledge in an effort to make you want to hire me, but instead I’ll talk about who I am as a person. At the end of the day, who I am as a person matters more than my array of skills and experience.
I am an enthusiastic pursuer of knowledge, if I’m not learning something new every day I feel like I have wasted my day. As such I tend to be a self-motivated programmer, looking into new technologies in my down time to learn the latest and greatest as I can. It also makes me pursue projects outside of my designated job title in my own time. I tend to bounce around different things learning enough to be proficient with them and then bouncing to the next thing. This makes me an expert in nothing, but I have a wide array of skills that tend to relate to one another on some level, so they help build on top of one another.
With that being said, if you’re looking for the end all be all of a single technology, you’re looking in the wrong place. I’ve used C# for the past 10+ years, but I would not say I know everything about it by any means, frankly I’m not sure anyone can legitimately make that claim. What I will say though, is I have a never ending thirst for knowledge and I learn things on the fly very quickly, so even if I don’t know it, I will happily learn it.
I am a husband and father, my evenings, before the children go to bed, tend to be a whirlwind of different mundane activities. Everything from helping my wife prepare dinner, to exercising with my kids so we all stay healthy and fit. Once the kids are all tucked into bed, it’s time to work on my personal projects for a bit, and then quiet time with my wife in front of our current favorite show.
My family’s weekends vary greatly depending on the weather and season, but we enjoy activities like; hiking, camping, rock climbing, hanging out with family, and barbecues with friends. When the weather is nice, we tend to stay outdoors more often than not. When it’s not though, we hang out a lot and spend time as a family either way.
If any of the above sounds like the kind of person you want working with you, head over to my Skills, Work History, and Projects pages to learn more about my experience and knowledge. Or just download my Resumé if you would rather just skip to the end.
