Application Engineer III - Golden Living
2009 - Current in Fort Smith, AR

As you can see from the ridiculously exhaustive list of skills used below, you'll see how many different hats I wore in my tenure at Golden Living. It would be impossible to sum up in a few sentences all the most notable projects I've worked on in my many years at Golden Living.
It may be easier to simply state my many different job functions:
  • Amalga ETL Developer (Which included SQL Server DBA work)
  • Bridgegate ETL Developer and Administrator (Which included MySQL DBA work)
  • Subversion Administrator
  • Jira/Bitbucket/Git Administrator
  • Special Projects Developer (Where I built more web and desktop based applications than you can shake a stick at!)
If you want/need more details than this, I'll have a running list of major projects on my projects page.

Senior Software Developer - QED Transcription Services
2007 - 2009 in Bentonville, AR

QED is where I really was allowed to run loose on my development journey. My management team let me call the shots when it came to what technologies to use, how to implement them, and what we as a business needed to do from a development stand point. In my time there, I was given the privilege of building several key applications that I imagine are still being used today by the business.
Most notably; the TCP/IP HL7 integration interface and the HL7 parsing engine to ingest customer feeds into our transcription system, and the sound file conversion utility that took Olympus Dictaphone proprietary formatted files and converted them into MP3 files.

Senior Software Consultant - QVSystems
2007 - 2009 in Bentonville, AR

QVSystems was a sister company of QED Transcription Services. The IT department of QED was farmed out to various and sundry different clients to design and develop business solutions for our customers. This was typically done after normal business hours in addition to our work for QED.
We typically ended up having to clean up other people's work, or finishing work that had already been started. So no full systems were developed by my hands while doing work for QVSystems. But I worked on several ColdFusion websites, and various SQL Server database, and the odd C# utility app for various clients.

System Administrator - First Track Information Services
2005 - 2007 in Bella Vista, AR

First Track was where I first discovered my affinity for technology. First Track was a small company, and our only IT person had been let go due to work ethic issues. The owner paid me to learn all I could to keep the company afloat from a technological perspective. I was the only administrator and my job was to manage our two small servers, our SQL Server 2000 backend, our company web-site, and make sure our network and all it's moving parts were working at all times. I administered Active Directory, our Exchange Server, and everything else we needed. Sadly my administration skills have rusted beyond repair, but I took my first flying leaps into programming while working here.
Besides completely rebuilding our company web-site, which served as our customer portal and ordering system, I also built several utility programs in C# to help facilitate our business needs, including; a front end application to manage inbound and outbound orders, and an inventory system to keep track of our FEMA flood plain maps.
